Policy
Our zero-tolerance position on bribery and corruption, and the standards everyone acting for BlokPort is expected to follow.
Contents
01
BlokPort has zero tolerance for bribery and corruption in any form, wherever we work. We are a privately owned business, and we compete on the quality of our natural stone and our service, never on improper payments or favours.
This policy applies to everyone who works for or on behalf of BlokPort, including directors, employees, contractors, and the agents and partners who act for us.
02
Bribery means offering, giving, requesting, or accepting anything of value to influence a decision improperly, whether that happens directly or through a third party. It is not limited to cash, and it does not depend on whether the improper act actually follows.
03
Modest, reasonable, and openly recorded hospitality is acceptable when it reflects normal business courtesy. Anything that could influence a decision, or reasonably look like it might, is not.
If you are unsure whether a gift or invitation is appropriate, the safe course is to check before offering or accepting it, and to record it.
04
We do not make facilitation payments, which are small unofficial payments to speed up a routine action someone is already meant to perform. If you are asked for one, decline and report it through the route below.
05
Agents, brokers, suppliers, and other partners must not pay or accept bribes on behalf of BlokPort. We check who we work with before engaging them, and we set out our expectations clearly in the way we deal with them.
06
We keep accurate and complete books and records, and payments and expenses are properly recorded and approved. Clear records help us show that what we pay and receive is legitimate.
07
If you suspect that bribery or corruption may be taking place, we would rather hear about it. You can raise a concern with your manager or through the route set out in our Whistleblowing policy. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who speaks up in good faith.
If you have a question about this policy or want to raise a concern, please contact us.
