Policy
How we identify and manage situations where a personal interest could affect a business decision at BlokPort.
Contents
01
This policy helps everyone at BlokPort keep business decisions free from improper personal influence. We want the choices we make about customers, suppliers, and partners to rest on what is right for the business.
02
A conflict of interest arises when a personal, family, or financial interest could affect a decision you make for BlokPort. It can involve work you do outside the business, or a close relationship with a supplier or customer.
A conflict is not wrong in itself. What matters is that we recognise it and deal with it openly.
03
Modest, reasonable hospitality is a normal part of building relationships and is acceptable. Anything that could be seen to influence a decision improperly is not, and we use good judgement about what to accept.
If you hold an outside interest that could conflict with your work at BlokPort, such as a second role or an investment in a supplier, we ask you to disclose it.
04
Please tell us as soon as you become aware of an actual or potential conflict. You can raise it with your manager, and early disclosure gives us the best chance to handle it well.
05
Once a conflict is known, we agree the steps needed so the decision stays fair. That may mean stepping back from the decision, or adding another person to review it, depending on the situation.
