Policy
The standards BlokPort expects from the suppliers and processors we work with, on conduct, labour, safety, and the environment.
Contents
01
This Code sets out the standards BlokPort expects from the suppliers, processors, and partners we work with. It applies to everyone who supplies natural stone, materials, or services to us.
We ask you to read it, to apply it in your own operations, and to hold your own suppliers to consistent standards.
02
You are expected to comply with the laws that apply to your business wherever you operate, and to act honestly and fairly in your dealings with BlokPort and others.
You should never offer, give, or accept bribes or improper payments in any form. Where a local practice conflicts with this Code, we expect you to follow the higher standard.
03
All work should be freely chosen. We expect you to allow no forced, bonded, or child labour in your operations or your supply chain.
Workers should be treated fairly and with respect, paid in line with the law, and free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
04
You are expected to provide safe and healthy working conditions, to identify and control the risks that arise in your work, and to give workers the training and equipment they need.
05
We expect you to manage the environmental impact of your operations, to meet the environmental rules that apply to you, and to work to reduce waste, emissions, and the use of scarce resources over time.
06
You should describe the natural stone and services you supply accurately, and meet the specifications, quantities, and timings we agree together.
If something cannot be met as agreed, we would rather hear about it early so we can plan around it.
07
We favour long-term relationships with suppliers who share these standards. From time to time we may ask about your practices, and we expect improvement where it is needed.
